This block features a six-pointed star surrounded by a border of triangles. The star can be made with any fabric you like, but it looks especially nice with metallic or glittery fabrics. The block is designed by Carol Doak, a renowned quilter and author of many books on paper piecing. In this tutorial, we will show you how to make a Jacob's Ladder block using simple squares and half-square triangles. You will need a dark fabric and a light fabric, preferably with a high contrast between them.

The block is made with simple patchwork and applique techniques, and it can be customized with your favorite fabrics and colors.
